Arvind Satyanarayan (Lecturer)
Hi folks, I’m Arvind (he/him) and a faculty member in computer science. I lead the MIT Visualization Group where we study various aspects of data visualization including developing new tools for authoring visualizations, applying visualization to interpret machine learning models, and studying how to make visualizations accessible to blind and low vision people. I’m excited for our semester together because Daniel and I have spent a lot of time rethinking how to better distill the core idea of this class: design is a critical part of computer science, and good design requires just as much rigor analysis, creativity, and thoughtfulness as algorithmic implementation. I’m looking forward to getting to know you all — please don’t be a stranger, and feel free to reach out if you’d ever like to chat (about the class, or other things more generally)!
Max Goldman (Lecturer)
👋 I’m a lecturer in EECS, and I’m looking forward to working with all of you this semester. In the spring I teach 6.102 Software Construction, and I’ve been teaching variations on the classes that are currently 6.102 and 6.1040 for… a while! My research in the Usable Programming Group has looked at how software engineers collaborate and at building tools for more effective CS education.
Dana Hua (TA)
Hi everyone! My name is Dana and I’m an MEng in the Visualization Group. In my free time I enjoy trying new foods/cafes, cooking, and taking long walks!
Peilin Chen (TA)
Hey everyone! My name is Peilin and I’m excited to be one of your TAs this semester. A little about myself – I am an MEng student and a course 6-3 senior, and I took 6.1040 in Fall 2023. In my free time I love trying out new cafes around Boston. Looking forward to meeting and working with you all this semester!
Naomi Kirimi (TA)
